Excerpts from the AMA Session of PLUTOS NETWORK in partnership with ZILLIQA

Warm greetings @amkuma Dr. Amrit Kummer it’s gives me immense pleasure to welcome you here. Welcome to Plutos Network as our guest today to share more on Zilliqa and the partnership between Zilliqa and Plutos Network. Before we start, can you make a brief introduction of yourself to our community so that the members can know you better?
Amrit Kummer:
Hello everyone! Thanks for inviting me over. Great to be here! As you said, my name is Amrit, and I am the President at Zilliqa. I come from a research background with interest in security and privacy research. Prior to getting involved with Zilliqa, I was doing research on privacy aspects of blockchains.

That’s good to know, Tell us more about Zilliqa and what are the advantages compared to other public Blockchains?
Amrit Kummer:
Zilliqa is a blockchain platform similar to Ethereum in the sense that it allows devs to deploy smart contracts that others can use. The reason we started to work on Zilliqa in the first-place was two fold:
1) Scalabilty: We had seen in 2017 (during the ICO era) Ethereum got clogged every single time a certain ICO happened. Therefore, there was a dire need to build solutions that could scale. We were the first to implement the idea of sharding which is basically a way to divide transaction processing into chunks so that these chunks can be processed in parallel.
2) Smart contract safety: With DAO hack that happened on Ethereum, we were also looking into ways to improve smart contract safety. To this end, we decided to develop a new "safe-by-design" smart contract language that can eliminiate some of the bugs you see in Solidity contracts. So, as a dev, you could write safer contracts and users could also reliably use dapps without worrying about the next hack that could impact their assets.

Scalability and smart contract safety are definitely two key things which should be given importance in blockchain, glad to know that Zilliqa deals with it. Okay let me move on to my next question.
Lately, Zilliqa and Plutos Network established a partnership and Plutos Network also launched a Staking pool dedicated to Zilliqa. Can you share with us your opinion and/or expectation for future integration?
Amrit Kummer:
It is great to see a dedicated platform (to read Plutos) building a suite of synthetic and derivative products. I think many people in the space are mostly trading the spot/base assets but that is changing quite rapidly specially because of the traditional crowd getting involved in crypto. Also, being able to trade cross-chain assets and derivatives is a pretty cool idea. The collaboration between Zilliqa and Plutos is still at an early stage but I am sure the community can see the benefits once ZIL is fully integrated in the system with all the products that you guys are building. Staking Plutos to earn ZIL is clearly the first step towards deeper integrations.

Definitely agree to you sir we’re at early stage and expecting to have complete integration that benifits two projects. On to my next question.
As a public chain with outstanding performances, what support does Zilliqa have in terms of developing the DeFi ecosystem as well as synthetics?
Amrit Kummer:
If you are a developer and want to build something on Zilliqa, you could reach out to ZILHive. They run several types of programs ranging from simple grants program to more involved incubation programs to provide all sorts of support that you may need. There are also several DeFi dapps built on chain that you can make use of for example, stablecoins, DEX and others. As a matter of fact, we do not have synthetics on chain, and that's why Plutos is great project to have.

What are the upcoming milestones Zilliqa have for the continuous building of Zilliqa ecosystem?
Amrit Kummer:
A lot of building is actually being done by the community of devs. Every other day, we see a new project launching on the chain. So, I would say that most of the milestones that you will see is around community. Several projects like XCAD (a project around fan tokens), BLOX (a project around gaming), several NFT DEXes among others are about to lauch soon. From the core team side, the biggest project coming out live soon will be a bridge between Zilliqa and Ethereum to bring cross-chain assets. The bridge will have incentives to encourage users to move assets and generate yield.
